I've been close to only three people I'd be content to celebrate with the
honorific, "Genius!"

One is a painter of stupendous gifts -- in particular an engaging visual
imagination so distinctively her own that it seems to me everything she's ever
done would only be produced by her. She is also unpretentious, no posing, no
"sides" to worry about -- none of the "complexity" one might expect. And yet,
oh
how she "sees"!

She once told me there are people whose "aura" she can see -- literally.
When this thread arose on the forum, I asked her to describe her "aura"
experiences. Stella has a mind very different from mine, and I admit I cannot
accept any of her "explanatory" remarks, but I don't doubt for a minute the
sincerity of her descriptions of her own "experiences". Here, for what it's
worth
to those interested in "auras", is what she wrote me:

"We all have an aura. It is a field around us, like electricity, and it is
coloured. People who can read auras can see illness ahead of time by looking at
the colours in the aura.
The idea is that we have, I think it's 7, bodies and only one is the
physical one we see. A great deal can be learned from studying these forces
that
emanate from us. I have seen photographs that actually show this, taken by
scientists.
A rather wonderful psychic once told me how to see auras, but I only ever
got e fleeting glimpse. (It's one of the things I plan to practise when I am
old
and have a lot of TIME!)
You have to look far far into the distance and focus. Then you pull your
centre of focus back until you bring it to the third eye, (in the centre of
your
forehead). It is from here that you see auras."
