Yeah, sooner or later most of the bad stuff is cheap and most of the good stuff 
is expensive.

Much of iconic 20th C. visual art is ugly or banal - and yes, you, or any
unskilled outsider, has the ability to make it or have it  made in your name.


The upside is that most of the beautiful bronze sculpture from that period
costs less than what a foundry would charge today  for casting it.

The downside is that the culturally passive viewer, like the kind Mike has
recently described, is not likely to see it.
