Commodification needs no material object - it is the fetishization of
objectification - in that the objectified experience is of greater exchange
value than it does use value - the very process in itself is one of
anaesthetization

Part of the process of aestheticization is the objectification of
experience. Insofar as commodification requires an object, I would say that
aestheticization can facilitate commodification, but "promote" is too strong
a term for the relationship.
