These services shorten long URLs.
For example, TinyURL reduced the long Google Books URL to
http://tinyurl.com/bom7vrf .
SnipURL reduced it to http://snipurl.com/24ms35l.
Much easier on the email client, which will (probably) not break it at the
endof a line.
