I put up one earlier this year.

The biggest downside is they are difficult to climb.  

My tower mounts will work with them if you put a backing pipe on the inside of 
the tower leg.  

SSV is not that much more money.

Anyone had experience with the Rohn RSL self-supporting towers? We've mostly 
used 45G or 55G in the past, but pricing and shipping is getting out of hand. 
The RSL seems to be significantly better for handling loads as well. Just 
wondering about how they compare for climbing and mounting equipment.

 

I’m also a little confused about the base section options.  Looks like there is 
a sort base, as well as an anchor base.  Any advantages of one over the other?
