Right, in series you increase voltage, not amp-hours.  In parallel you keep the voltage and increase the amp-hours.  16 x 10ah cells in series would take you up to 48v, but it's still 10ah.

I'm seeing 100ah cells on Amazon for around $100.  Sixteen of those would put me well over 2x the cost of a generic lead-acid battery, but actually about on par with an AGM lead-acid battery or telecom batteries.

Are they really much better than lead-acid?  The voltage ends up at 51.2 (vs 54 for lead-acid).  Do you just trim your rectifier to a lower voltage or do you have to buy special equipment?

P.S.: I too do not understand the term "Battery Revert" from the original question.

Your looking for Lithium Ion Polymer of LIFEPO4 Prismatic cells, 16s or 16 in series gives you about 48v at 100ah. or 1600ah @ 4.2v (cell voltage if 16parallel). Then you just need a bms ($50-100) for cell voltage balancing, and if you don't have a LVD most of the higher price bms ($100ish) include the LVD, I don't use the 18600 type cells but those are a good option also and you can get little jigs that will take 16 of them on one pcb and you can stick them with integrated bms, and parallel function.

Interesting, so on eprey I see an auction for a 16 pack of 38120S
    LifePO4 battery cells with 3.2v 10ah each.

That would be about 51.2v and 160ah total? For  about $400?

Or are you saying you found 100ah cells for only $75 shipped and
you have 1600ah total for $1200?

Not seeing those batteries on ebay for that low a cost for 100ah,
    so I’m confused.

What is a revert? We are using LifePO4 cells from ebay, 100ah
cells for $75 in a 16x configuration, works out to about $1350
with the batt management system and they should last my lifetime
