That's not true! The fact that it had garbage gain was just one of several reasons why nobody bought it... it was also the size of a small house, only supported half of the 5ghz band and used a ton of power.
I don't think there are any other true full duplex 5ghz radios out there though, so it did have that going for it. It was a pretty impressive radio from a technical standpoint (especially at the time), but it really wasn't very practical.
