We tried those a couple of times for relays on farmyards. We found that the suctions cups did not hold the radio up for very long. Usually within a couple of months, the suction cup would release and the radio would fall. Seemed like a good idea, but in practice, it just didn't work well. In particular, in Minnesota with the glass getting cold and warm over season change, the suction cup just wasn't high enough quality to hold it. If they had used the same material that some of the better car window mount phone holders used, it might have been OK. For short distance relays, the Low E glass didn't drop the signal enough to matter since we pretty over powered for what was needed. However, I would think using that for a normal SM installation would cause too large a signal drop to work. We have were also using Mikrotik Wireless Wire for relays where high speed was needed. Even at short distance the Low E would kill the signal to a point where it was unusable. Mounting on the outside and running the cable inside was the only way we could get a good connection on them.

Was the Nanostation supposed to go on the outside of the window, or the inside shooting through the glass? I ask because we have now encountered 2 competitor installs shooting through the glass. Isn't that a bad idea, unless it's 100 year old glass or else Plexiglas?
