Title should say something more along the lines of “44.2 Tbps optical data 
transmission over standard fibre with a single chip source” as in the original 
article.  Yes, it’s the same type of fiber used in the backbone of the national 
Internet infrastructure.  No, it wasn’t delivering Internet to anybody’s house. 
 But of course what this means is that Internet in Australia is 1000 times as 
fast as here.
