They also used to negotiate with content providers to allow members to deploy 
CATV.  I still have an account with them but there is no money in it.

Yes. Many rural LEC’s use NTCA for retirement/savings and 401k for their 
employees. Basically a large advocacy organization, kinda like WISPA.
