I usually don't check their resume too carefully but after this string of
messages I did call an employeer that he says he worked there for the last
couple of years as a welder.
Only welding job on his resume. They said he worked 5 months a couple of years
back.

And his education only shows highschool. Looks like he has been out of high
school for 2 years and had one welding job that he quit. The imaginary $25K
education was not there.....

This one got under my skin a bit because he just kept coming back for more
punishment.
I am loosing my appetite for beating up people online I guess.

Despite all the hype about robots and AI, one thing that robots actually do
well is welding. So while $20/hr doesn’t sound like big money to me*, welders
probably shouldn’t get too cocky.

Oh, and on the topic of robots, here’s one person’s opinion on whether you
should buy, hold or sell TSLA:

* depends of course on local job market, cost of living, and benefits in
addition to hourly pay

We employee 5 welders. It is pretty entry level. Stepping stone job for some.
The good ones that hang around get raises twice a year.

Hi , thanks for applying to our Production Welder - MIG Mild Steel - Lake
Point, Utah job. As we review applications, you're welcome to reach out about
details in your work or education history you'd like us to consider, such as
transferable skills and experience. Thanks, the team at McCown Technology
Corporation

Chuck

Thank you for applying for this job with McCown Technology. Your application
was among a small group of qualified individuals. It was tough choice to make.
Sorry to say, the position has been filled. However, we do hire for this and
other positions several times a year. So if you see something come up from us
again and are still looking for employment, don't hesitate to apply.

Applicant

11:26 AM

Probably not. Was pretty excited to cpme work there, was told during my weld
test i was the best fit, and get told your hiring someone else. Doesnt sounds
very good. Thanks anyways.

Chuck

11:28 AM

Your weld test was good. But there were other factors that are more important
to us.

Applicant

11:34 AM

Still, not right to let employees say, Youll get the job, your better then the
other guy by far, get my hopes up like i got the job and then end up not
getting it. I will not be recommending you guys to anyone or applying again.
Waste of my time

Chuck

11:37 AM

Jeff did not say you will get the job. Frankly, the whole team gave you a
thumbs down, moreover you stated that you had to have a certain amount of pay
that we are not willing to pay. Dude, they were unanimous that you have a cocky
attitude and would not fit in here. You also wasted our time. There is a reason
you are out looking for a job. Perhaps time for introspection and self
reflection.

Applicant

11:40 AM

Want talking about Jeff. So just because i expected a certian pay when ive put
25k into schooling to get offered 20 an hour? That's asinine. That's is an
insanely low pay rate for a welder of my abilities or even a beginner.

Chuck

1:03 PM

Good luck with that. BTW, nobody else here put any money into schooling... OJT
and it worked out well for all of them. Well, you do you. BTW, I was not aware
Jeff even made an offer. And I interviewed everyone that you had contact with
and none of them told you that you were getting the job. We have a strict
process here and they followed it. So, from my perspective you have an issue
with telling the truth too. So entitled, cocky and perhaps a veracity issue. No
thanks. You just go find that happiness somewhere else. Surely someone will be
impressed with your $25K education.

Applicant

1:10 PM

I will gladly go find a place else where, jeff didnt make me an offer, i was
talking about the employees in the shop that took my weld test, i was told i
pretty have the spot, i wasnt so worried about the pay honestly, i could figure
that out. But cocky? A lier? Those are things im not. I never lyed to any of
you in my interview or during my weld test. Im just a dude thats confident in
my abilities. Done arguing about it, will be writing a review about this and
the lack of communication from you guys. You werent even going to call me or
tell me anything i had to call to get a message. Pretty childish you cant even
do that, dont really want to work for a company that cant do what they say even
in the interview. Have a nice day.

Chuck

1:39 PM

Well you just write whatever. BTW, everyone, every single person that applied
got the exact same message that you got. So that is BS about not going to let
you know. You continue to whine about everything which just underscores the
personality issues you have. Grow up, put on your big boy pants and learn
something from this wonderful experience. Thin skins are a liability.
