Google is doing a lot of fancy things under the hood too.  I can't really
get why, but they're using data-href
<https://github.com/nathanford/data-href/> which probably lets them do
fancy styling, selection things, I could only speculate but it's probably
something to do with how the javascript generates the page, but they could
be repurposing it to track you and be cross compatible across devices and
desktops.  Nefarious purposes?  Useful compatibility tricks?  No way to
tell without being a javascript/html expert and I'm about 10 years out of
date in that department... :p

That said, if it really bothers you, inspect a link in duckduckgo... it's a
lot more readable!
