There was some discussion that because of the way the metalization was done inside the old fiberglass 27RD dishes, it would not work with dual polarization. I'm pretty sure we must have changed out some FSK for 450 though on the old fiberglass dishes by now and have not seen that problem.

I have seen what you describe I think when I had FW 13.1.2 on the AP and 13.2 on the SM. It would resolve upon running a linktest but then come back. Went away by making sure everything was on 13.2. Might have been a fluke though, FW upgrade involves a reboot, never know if that was what did it.

we are seeing some locations with signal strength ratios 20.0 dB V - H dB and Im trying to figure out why.

If you convert from the original PMP100 RD25 dishes to RCL-2 dishes you will
experience a +4dB signal gain. So it depends on if you need that margin.

We are converting one of our oldest sites to 450.

Does anyone know if the older dishes have problems with the 450 SMs?

Some of these dishes are 10 years old. I wouldn't think so, but you never
know until you ask.
