Yeah, something like Airbnb is also more than 1/2 (or right around half) of all the "hotel rooms" in San Francisco. Actually, the report I think I saw on the PBS Nightly business report was that Airbnb is now the "largest hotel chain" in the US. I think they were measuring that on # of rooms, and not necessarily on the total revenue.

Uber is now more than half the "taxi" business in San Francisco. When they ask users, they say it's a more reliable ride than traditional taxis. At least in SF, you can call a cab, but they don't always show up.

I find the whole Uber vs taxi thing interesting from the common carrier standpoint. Given that some people want to reclassify us as common carriers. I keep seeing that Uber rates customers as well as drivers, and if you as a customer get poor ratings from Uber drivers, you may be standing there forever waiting for a ride. Same if you are in a “bad” neighborhood. Whereas taxis are required to pick up anyone. Also that it doesn’t take much to get a poor rating from an Uber driver, like asking for the radio turned down or the windows closed. This does not seem to hurt the popularity of Uber, which seems to me like carpooling or hitchhiking with an app. But if Uber cuts seriously into taxi business, who will pick up the undesirable customers or the people who need a ride from an undesirable neighborhood, or in crappy weather. I admit I like not having to accept just anybody as a customer, and being able to fire customers, in fact I wish there was an app where WISPs could rate customers and the bad ones would essentially be blackballed. And I wonder if Title II would mean we have to serve anybody who calls. At least maybe that would mean we could post a cleanup fee for if you puke in the taxi.

Provo is pretty far from SLC. An uber might be kinda expensive.

You can just move the dot to where your building
actually is and report it. After a few days someone
from Google (probably an intern) will verify it and let
            you know if you wish.

I don’t think it will take longer than an hour.

Location is in the city of Saratoga Springs, UT.

The address of my office doesn’t pull up well in
Google Maps, but its in a strip mall a couple of
blocks east of the center of town.

That is a couple blocks east of the Wendys,
                Wallmart, Smiths Grocery, Wallgreens intersection.

The sign on my office isn’t installed, so it’s still
a Karate studio circular sign of a karate guy on top
                of an American Flag (naturally).

There is a Jiffy Lube and a Subway Sandwich shop in
                the front of the stripmall.

                The address is:

                258 East SR-73

                Saratoga Springs, UT 84045

Again, looking this up in Google Maps will put you
                way off.

I’m trying to fix that, but it’s not a high priority
                for me yet J
