I haven't looked at it other than using it some on their site as I believe they
switched their forum to use that.

You check out their community / social version? I guess its just a version of
their Telligent stuff. But having its own social networking built into zimbra
would be really cool A private social network already inside zimbra would be
helpful.

This is the service provider edition, yes. It is not the enterprise version.
Elsewhere in the thread I linked the document that describes the program.

Not that any edition of ZCS replaces ZExtras, but it does enable different
things.

Zextras for the whole suite is $9.10 per user per YEAR vs $18 per year for
that. I think that's being a partner though right? If you actually just want to
buy the commercial product its in the thousands. Unless they changed it. If I
recall I think the network ed mainly just came with support more phone
integration mobile support etc.

It ranges from (list) $0.19/month to $1.50/month.

Here's an updated copy. I'm waiting to hear what the different license levels
cost.

Zextras does all of that too. You can recover mailboxes and it zips up entire
backups whenever you want and I just rsync off. Zextras was expensive for sure.
But it was worth it when I think Zimbra at the time wanted 3-4k. For me Zextras
was only $400

I haven't gotten any details on their partner program since the divestiture,
but when it was still under VMWare, the partner program was a good deal. You
get the full support of the Enterprise version and all of its features, but you
can pay differently for different capabilities per mailbox. A basic POP3\IMAP
box was like $0.07/month while the full auto-archiving, whatever other extras
they had was like $2.50/month. There was like a half dozen different levels. I
should hit them up again.

We use it for the offices but not the customers. Its brilliant. The new guys
that bought it have already started taking it to the next level. Throw zextras
in there and you have zxchat built in for quick communication between all your
offices. There is an upcoming xmpp server built in as well in the new 8.7
release. The IRC #zimbra chat room is extremely helpful as well.

Not to mention I haven't paid a dime yet (other than zextras). I'm almost ready
to expand enough though that I may be purchasing it.

It is a pig though like exchange. It requires a lot of resources and updates
and upgrades can take a while depending on your system.
