I've got a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 in a PC at the cable co I consult for.
I can access it remotely and stream digital cable, works on my phone, PC, etc... took a little to get it working on Android, just a web address change. It works fine on those fruity products right out of the box.
Quality is good. I'll play it on my 46 inch TV and you'd never know it wasn't DirecTV.
