Hmmm, wonder how long each length is. I know they lay them in the hold of a cable laying ship. They splice them in the hold. But as far as transport goes, it would probably be hard to put up more than about 2500 feet on a spool that can be transported on the highways. That is a whole bunch of splicing. Maybe they make it shipside with an extrusion operation and it goes directly into the ship.
