I re-watched them all last year, and I was surprised how poorly they held up. Contrast them to “2001: A Space Odyssey” or the “Star Trek” or “ET” or “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” all which hold up pretty well. Now that Lucas is out of it, they have a prayer of doing it right.
