But Blizzaks are about as soft as Coax-Seal if the temperature gets above 40 degrees. 300 mile drives at 75-80 are going to chew them up, unless it’s really cold. Also, watch out for those steel grate roadways over the river in Chicago, the Blizzaks will lock in and your steering will have a mind of its own.
But yeah, they bite into snow. Nothing on ice like studs though. At least that’s what I remember. They’ve been illegal in Illinois for decades. The tire dealer I go to has the studdable Nokian Hakkapeliittas in their showroom. What, do you have to certify you are taking them out of the state before mounting them on a vehicle?
