I am using an 844E at home. Works very well. My house has a product called
warm board as sub floor which has an aluminum sheet molded into hydronic tubing
grooves in its surface. So a solid metallic shield between all three floors.
It is on the middle floor and still has decent signal above and below.

One cool feature about the 844 product is a new app that will allow you to shut
off your kids tablet from anywhere. You can selectively kill any device or
schedule its hours etc. Want the kids to stop watching netflix? Just grab
your phone.

We use the basic Fiber-Ethernet or add POTS for Voice. I've found wireless
in most of these platforms is behind by about 2 years.

Ah-hah, thanks. Only guy we could get ahold of sounds fresh off the boat
and asked us to email him our questions.

Trying to set up a call with Alphion today. Not sold on the ONT lineup
options, but the OLT line looks solid.

Alphion...We have a Dasan deployment. Customer Service wasn't great. I
forget now, but I think it was Softbank that bankrolled them and forced them to
open a US shop for Sprint. They started ignoring us, and fired the only sales
rep they had in the US.
