There is *so much* that we don't know. OTOH, we are also making new
discoveries at a rate never before seen in human history. We are still
poking ants with sticks in the grand scheme of things.
I am not one of those people that believe we have been "visited by
aliens" in the traditional sense, but it is my belief that if we have
even a basic understanding of the vastness of space that it would be
incredibly arrogant of us to think we are the only sentient and
somewhat evolved species out there.
