I doubt email will become obsolete any time soon. Everything business related is still conducted via email... even if it's just a notification that you need to go electronically sign a form on a website. It is still the "most critical" piece of the Internet. Don't believe me? Take down the Gmail servers for a few hours and see what the top news headline is on every news site. LOL

I wonder about every site requiring an email address as a login, given that email is likely to become obsolete. Perhaps it’s like the federal government requiring vendors to have a DUNS number.

These days I get the impression that people think this is "THE INTERNET".

A lot of people are able to handle a limited amount of abstraction.

For outdoor advertising purposes (vehicles, signs, etc) I question whether enough of the normal non technical population knows about new TLDs to recognize them as such... The sort of people who think THE INTERNET is the big round blue E on their Windows desktop.

If you put "johnsoncarpentry.contractors" on the side of a vehicle, do people not know it's a domain, or do you have to put "www.johnsoncarpentry.contractors" so people will recognize it as a domain

or if you put

"johnsoncarpentry.com <http://johnsoncarpentry.com>" on a vehicle people will know it's a domain and you don't have to put the "www".

I have a customer using .contractors and I also have one that
