  New Mexico - I just say "my backyard"....like to spend more time there than

  Texas-   Tejas (teh  haas) no Tay  or   Tex sehs.....no twang in my speech

  Llano is ya no,   not lano

  Mesquite is mes ki teh 3 syllables not 2

  San Antonio    is Saan An to nyo....not sand but more sun sound 

  El Paso  is El paso  not El Payso....even John Wayne pronounced pretty 
good...even Marty Robbins is passable

    The correct way is the Spanish way no matter what anyone says.   In Texas,  
they butcher Llano, Cuero,  Mesquite , San Antonio, El Paso just to name of 
few.  ..but of course they are speaking Ammerikan... Ha
