I would probably be looking for duplex. And how tight can you make the termination to the outdoor sheath? On an Edgepoint R6, there's only about 3" from the SFP to the cable exit, and no space for any cable wrap inside.

Re: [AFMUG] Outdoor Fiber Jumpers Nate,

Late to the game, but how about something like this. I think we were getting pricing in the low $40 range for 20' pre-terminated simplex.

I'm in a web chat with them now, and that's what they are recommending.

However they gave me a price of $80 each for 5m and yes, Minimum order quantity of 1km.

I'm thinking about getting some UV Resistant Heat shrink tubing, and putting it around a regular patch cable. Any reason that would not work?

I asked them before about it and they can make some:

LC/UPC to LC/UPC Duplex Singlemode Waterproof Fiber Patch Cable with PE (UV protected) jacket.
Length- *3m
*Breakout Length-0.5m
Outlet: 2.4mm

Unit Price: *$16.54

*However, minimum order quantity is 1000 meters.. heh.

They also said the armored cable isn't recommended to be used outdoors.

Speaking of outdoor pre-made cables.. anybody got a source for outdoor shielded cat6 patch cables? I’d like to try some of these F-POEs out.
