Think of their outputs EXACTLY like a series stack of dry cells in your
flashlight.

wall wart #1 wall wart #2
String up as many as you want, connecting positive to negative in between.
At the ends you will have a free positive and at the other end of the string
you will have a free negative.

With wall warts, I having trouble wiring this in my brain, could someone
diagram the 48v out of 2x 24v for me? I get parallel but series seems
wrong... one neg as the neg term, connect that hot to the other neg?
and the other hot is 48V? I guess I should breadboard it, but I swamped...

Yeah, I've done that when I added some 48v gear to a tower and forgot to
bring the right power supply... all I had in the truck was 24v stuff, so
I hooked them up in series temporarily... it worked fine. And temporary
turned into like a year...
I've done them in parallel too... yeah, if they aren't both the same it
can be ungood. And certain power supplies don't like it at all even if
they are both exactly the same.

Yes, you can combine in parallel too. Unless they are essentially
the same unit, you can have them not sharing the load equally in
parallel. Sometimes that can be ungood.

That actually works? Does that apply in parallel as well if I have
the voltage I need but not the amperage? I just assumed multiple
power supplies connected together would be like crossing streams and
call up some demonic stay puff marsh mellow crickets or something

Most professional security cameras are either 24v AC or powered
off a .AF PoE switch with a built-in PSU so no external 48v.
Your local electronics supply would be the best chance.

I meant off sources, local type joints that would have it in
a pinch, like plumbing shops carry our masts in stock, but
theyre called water pipe and come in 21 foot lengths. You
have to get them cut, and the cuts not galvanized,, but its
literally the same pipe (thanks sitepro for forgetting your
nail polish wipe)
I really figured the security joint would have it, with
multicam ip cams and all.
