I've been mostly happy with the Planet MGSW-28240F switches we're using for some FTTx stuffs. They have a single AC and dual DC. Haven't even bothered with DC yet, because they're probably getting replaced with a PON shelf or two.

There's an APC model which is just as expensive and includes a huge</sarcasm> 5ah battery and no external connector. I was hoping for something smallish that takes external batteries, is fit to live outdoors, and is somehow monitorable. This is for a project where the switches have dual AC inputs. The Phoenix Contact Quints seems to fit all the requirements, but $1000 sounds steep.
