If they can hit you from 200' up with a thrown object then their aim is
really good.
The OSHA rule does not specify a distance, instead it says you wear a
helmet whenever there is "possible danger of head injury from impact".
You're supposed to use your judgement on that. Here's a fun Q&A on the

In that document I linked, OSHA asserts that even if the dangerous area
is merely accessible to the employee, that they should have a helmet on
just in case they choose to access the dangerous area. So IMO, don't
worry about a specific distance, just say if you're working at the tower
then put on a helmet.

I've heard there is a formula to determine how far from a tower someone
can be to be safe from objects that are dropped. You know, wrenches
etc. Can anyone give me some quick guidance?
