Dear friends,
I hope you are all doing well.
So as I mentionned in a previous discussion here, next week Tunis will be
hosting the Carthage Film Festival in its 29th edition (oldest film festival in
the African continent).
As a way to document and emphasize on the importance of such manifestations,
our User Group is organizing an editathon on the 6th of November to update,
write and translate Wikipedia articles about Cinema in Tunisia and Africa in
general. You can see the complete list of suggested articles to work on here.
I hope you can all participate remotely, or physically if you are in Tunis. We
need to have the biggest number of languages possible. Any interested, check
the meta page and add your name in the participants list.
Also, and thanks to the support of the media department of the Carthage Film
Festival, we managed to get Journalist badges to participate in the opening and
closing ceremony of the festival, the projections and the press conferences.
The goal behind this is to take photos of the artists and producers who will be
present in the festival, to upload them on Commons and integrate them
eventually in the proper Wikipedia articles.
So regarding this point, I need some help with identifying the international
artists. Once I upload the photos on Commons, I will share the Category with
you, so that you can identify the artists you recognize by changing the photo's
name with their name. Technically speaking, it will be very difficult for me to
memorize all names and correct spelling when I take the photos.
I will appreciate it if people who can help with this point share their
interest here, so that later, I can communicate with them directly.
Also, any remarks or suggestions are more than welcome.
Feel free to reach to me for any question.
Looking foward to hearing from you.
