Hi Justice and all, The main thing involved in getting it done would be if a critical mass of Wikimedia affiliates in Africa are interested (such as Ghana and others), and if there is a date and time that works for most people.
The format would be a panel discussion of representatives from affiliates across Africa, and possibly also pre-recorded short video segments, or whatever is suitable. There will be some music at the Asia-Pacific one as well. As to dates, I would suggest possibly Saturday Jan 16 (which is when the Asia-Pacific event is) or Sunday January 17.
