Not aware how well-known he was, but Michael Okema, a translator of Lingala and Acholi who was a lecturer at the Open University of Tanzania in Dar-es-Salaam, was "shot near his house on Friday and died - he was mistaken for a neighbour who was killed minutes later by the same people." Our condolences to his family and friends.
