Segregations we suffer
And suffer,
To delights of our captors.
Lines of discriminations
They draw,
Between we and them,
Between here and Abuja.
Between ghetto and squalor,
And splendour of paradise.
Let me lie
On my hard wooden bed
And relive
That dream about Abuja,
Where roads paved
With smooth asphalts crisscross,
And well kept parks
Beacon passersby for rest,
Where our captors
Dwell in comfort,
Comfort reminiscent of paradise.
Let me rebuke
Here and now,
Guardian spirits of this ghetto
For their silence,
In our collective captivity.
