Jakarta - Sejumlah bangunan di kota Tasikmalaya rubuh akibat gempa 7,3 SR. Bahkan salah satu bangunan rektorat di Universitas Siliwangi diinformasikan hancur. "Gedung rektorat universitas Siliwangi dan beberapa rumah rubuh," kata Kepala Pusat Penanggulangan Bencana Depkes Rustam Pakkaya kepada detikcom, Rabu (2/9/2009). Menurut Rustam, saat ini belum ada informasi resmi soal jumlah korban. Namun ia memastikan belum ada kabar soal tsunami. "Belum sabar dulu," ucapnya.
