*ANGGUN HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS A GOODWILL AMBASSADOR FOR THE F.A.O. OF THE
UNITED NATIONS*

International recording artist Anggun has been chosen *–along with legendary
sports champion Carl Lewis and internationally renowned designer Pierre
Cardin*- by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as
their Goodwill Ambassador. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations <http://www.fao.org/> (FAO) is a specialized agency of
the United
Nations <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations> that leads
international efforts to defeat hunger.

As a Goodwill Ambassador, Anggun will participate in a global effort to
offer support to the hungry and impoverished worldwide. This is not the
first time the United Nations have asked Anggun to promote key programs. In
2005, Anggun was a spokesperson for the ‘Year of Microcredit’ and helped to
create general public awareness to help those who are in needs.

Indonesian singer Anggun is the best-selling Asian recording artist ever
outside the Eastern-Asia region. No other Asian-born artist has ever sold as
many albums. Her worldwide critically-acclaimed hit ‘Snow On The Sahara’ has
reached #1 in more than 15 countries worldwide (including Italy). She has
sold millions of records across the globe (and achieved multi-platinum
status in Italy), and has won many international prizes and awards, making
her a truly “borders breaker” artist. Along her career, Anggun has performed
with international stars such as Peter Gabriel, Pras from The Fugees,
Michael Bolton, Julio Iglesias, Zucchero, Piero Pelu, to name but a few. In
2010, Anggun will start a promising acting career in a film directed by
famous Oscar winner Claude Lelouch. Anggun’s current album ‘Elevation’ is a
success in numerous countries across the Globe.

On her role as a Goodwill Ambassador, Anggun says that “everyone can count
on my continued, tireless support to FAO/United Nations’ activities and
worldwide campaign against hunger, to enable those living on the verge of
famine to use their own two hands to resolve the problem of hunger at the
roots”.

Anggun will be in Roma, Italy on Oct. 16th at the Rome International Film
Festival in support of the “TeleFood Campaign Against Hunger In The World”.
Anggun will be honored to pronounce a speech during the event.
