Dalam pertemuan dengan instansi terkait telah disepakati, BBM bersubsidi diutamakan untuk kendaraan umum. ”Kami mengevaluasi kemungkinan pembatasan BBM bersubsidi bagi kendaraan bermotor, termasuk sepeda motor,” katanya. Dalam rapat yang juga dihadiri Asosiasi Industri Sepeda Motor Indonesia terungkap, penggunaan BBM nonsubsidi bermanfaat bagi pengguna sepeda motor karena tenaga lebih bagus dan lebih irit. Sejumlah opsi mengenai jenis kendaraan apa saja yang boleh mendapat BBM bersubsidi sedang dikaji. Opsi yang muncul adalah berdasar tahun pembuatan kendaraan, besaran cc, dan wilayah yang lebih dulu membatasi pembelian BBM bersubsidi. ”Uji coba paling mudah di Jawa, tidak di kota, tetapi pulau. Kami tidak batasi kota karena kendaraan ini kan jalan ke mana-mana,” ujarnya. Rencana pembatasan pembelian BBM bersubsidi itu diharapkan sudah diputuskan akhir Juni selanjutnya dibahas dengan DPR. Jadi, uji coba bisa dilakukan Agustus nanti. Secara terpisah, pengamat energi Pri Agung Rakhmanto menilai rencana pembatasan BBM bersubsidi untuk sepeda motor harus jadi pilihan paling akhir. ”Semestinya bukan sepeda motor dulu yang dilarang, tetapi mobil mewah, mobil biasa, baru setelah itu sepeda motor.
