I was disappointed by the end of Linas's presentation because he seemed to be
promoting the method as scalable although he did not say anything about the
complexity (complicatedness) of the integration of ideas that would need to be
built on numerous and complicated references. A concept has to be
differentiated from other possibly relevant concepts and a particular concept
can be modified by the application of other concepts that can act on the
concept in different ways for different situations. Yes, an interpretable
network of relations can be reexamined but that is the Relevancy Problem if it
has to occur with every simple variation of a problem that occurs in
conceptually complicated space. I might be dreaming of a more futuristic
interpretable system, but the question is whether or not that futuristic system
is necessary for advancing current AI to give it more human like reasoning.
