Yes, Matt it's obvious that there is a sharp boundary between the explicit a priori mathematical definitions of lossy and lossless. Everyone knows that. It is less obvious that there is not a sharp boundary among all compressors with the data they compress that are classified exclusively as either lossy or lossless implemented in physical reality.
