I am working from a fairly significant information deficit. I have
little information about what I'm talking about and don't even know
where to look for most of it. =\
... Actually thinking about it now, the concept I need to communicate
the most/beat into your skulls the hardest, is FEEDBACK.
90% of the neural connections in the brain are feedback connections.
Feedback is SUPER important.
Feedback is NOT backpropagation.
Except for Arthur T. Muray and Woketards the your brain is ALWAYS learning.
A big mistake that I've seen in many neural systems is that the feedback
is based on the output of the system. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG.
A large part of the brain works like stable diffusion, but backwards.
Eyeballs are awful cameras. They can't focus too good and they have
terrible resoultion anywhere but the exact center, and they have a large
blind spot in the side of the visual field. How the brain uses its
eyeballs is basically it starts up with a stable diffusion-like system
with the prompt "What I'm seeing right now, maximum field of view." It
then takes the tiny samples that can be recovered from the optic nerves,
computes the difference and takes the error signal. When the generated
image converges, the process is reversed again and the brain receives a
high level description of the environment.
This is how perception works.
On the other side of the brain, things work more GAN-like. The brain
will generate a random assenine motor plan or verbal output. This is
first sent to the perceptual system to check it. It is then refined
iteratively until it at least seems right. The "stream of consciousness"
type thoughts are probably this type of process.
I think there are enough parts out there to make the above work, it's
just a matter of putting them together and successfully hacking your way
through what's missing...
