It kinda is actually somewhat obvious, think about it, GPT-4 was made 1 year ago now (done training, but not published 1 year ago), and is basically Weak AGI you would say, so AGI is like supposed to come after that in like 1-2 years. Think how AGI will rip hard, obviously things should be before it comes, and so yes I think we are moving faster than you think. I have tested 2 of Google's AIs, and they show human level in music - you saw my MusicLM tests hopefully, and Imagen 1 or might be 1.5 though seems to be 1, which is better than DALL-E 2.5 and was released in 2022 May or so which means Google is ahead of DALL-E 3 since DALL-E 2.5 was 2023 March or so... and DALL-E 3 is closing in on human level.
