The goal of AGI is to automate human labor. This is not exactly the same as unemployment, which implies no work and no income. AGI means more income for less work, as technology always does. Technology makes stuff cheaper. The money you save is spent on other stuff. That spending creates new jobs.
It is always hard to see where the new jobs come from when they don't yet exist. The printing press put scribes out of work. The new jobs came from having a more educated workforce and economic development. The most expensive component of AGI is training data. You will have new opportunities to earn money or free products in exchange for personal information, just letting AI watch you.
