Strange. I would expect AI generated music to be the next medium after
albums, cassettes, CDs, and online. Ideally, everyone would have their
own private genre customized to your tastes and trained on your
feedback and ratings. Maybe Google, Apple, Amazon, and Spotify haven't
figured out yet how to collect enough data on an individual level, so
they are still recommending songs based on group ratings. When you ask
for a song or artist or add it to a playlist, it suggests similar
music based on others who did the same. Maybe they need to collect
biometric data to tell if the music is something you really like
without you having to rate every song.

I suppose it is possible to train a large music model like you train a
large language model, but only a few large companies have access to
the 100 million songs online. Then you could ask for things like
Beetoven's fifth symphony in the style of Bon Jovi, just like you
could ask for Tom and Jerry in the style of Picasso. But that's not
something most people care about. Adaptation goes both ways. The AI
learns what music you like, and your taste in music adapts to what you
listened to in the past.

But we haven't solved it yet. We still spend hundreds of millions to
produce movies where it seems we should already have the technology
that we don't need actors or props or screenwriters anymore. The
global music industry is $50 billion per year and still produced
mostly by humans.
