Perhaps, "nobody" is convinced AI would give everyone what they want. It
already doesn't and the trend towards spoiling an "everyone" to death is
the least of the sum of all fears.

However, the threat to "some" may be real. With terrible power comes
terrible responsibility. How long still before that particular ferryman
demands its tax?

In the main, I think AI could prove more useful than destructive. The same
can't be said for the humans who control it - ultimately. I think if
there's a social fear that has merit, it would emanate from that quarter.

AI may well become a "scale tipper". Is that what humanity really want?
