The primary users are young people, 75% female, who prefer AI companions and lovers to real humans and form deep emotional bonds. There is a complete ban for those under 18. Older users have to be reminded every 2 hours that they are talking to a machine, must avoid emotional attachment, and report suicidal or troubling behavior. China has a declining population and has one of the lowest fertility rates in the world at 1 child per woman.
