with my comments. Summary: storing data in DNA costs $12,400 per MB to write and $220 per MB to read. This is 10^8 times higher than disk, but dropping like Moore's Law. The theoretical information density is 10^21 bases per gram, but the author's implementation is 10^4 times less efficient. It also took 2 days to write 750 KB and 2 weeks to read. -- -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
