Paradoxically, the first step in looking out for your neighbors is to look out for yourself first. When you think about it, you realize that if you aren't in a good position yourself you can't do much to help your neighbors. Someone once wrote an article making this point comparing Michael Milken with Mother Terisa... Furthermore, without AGI, you will die. If you are lucky, you will be superlatively shrivelled when it happens, but regardless of when it happens, it will happen. With AGI you can unlock the human genome and make it ur bitch.
