Everybody not living in a hole in the ground has read about the master
level DL program that "learned how to play in 72 hours."

It's an achievement.  But, I think the "72 hours" does not cover the
time the developer must have spent fine tuning and designing the
apparently several levels of control needed to THEN learn chess in 72
moves hours. Just reading the blaring headlines it makes it sound like
the machine started from scratch and learned the whole works in 72
hours.  But, that leaves out the human-level control design.

Unless I missed something?    I did not read it in detail.
