This is a simple attempt to start a conversation about consciousness to get
different points of view, so, it is aimed to be very open but with the goal
to connect the ideas. As the title say, it is just an attempt to reach the
readers with simple/basic questions, friendly ones.

I want to focus my energy in understanding consciousness, and then
intelligence, it seems to me that thinking about consciousness is how I can
contribute best.

I have been thinking about three main models/generalizations which I would
like very much to know your opinion, or even be given some references,
which you think could be interesting to someone in this path. Here are the
three main things:

1 - Conscience strives for adaptability. The most its state is coherent
with the environment, the better its owner will survive.

2 - What every thought has in common is the purpose to improve the
representation of a given domain from the conscience state cited above -
Our thoughts make it by accessing, changing and creating new
models/abstractions. It is useful to think about domains because our
conscience can divide the challenge of representing the environment, using
chunks that make sense for its adaptability.

3 - In this scenario, intelligence is how well the conscience is adapted to
the environment, e.g. it makes sense to say that the dogs are less
intelligent than us, because our conscience are better adapted than theirs
in the environment the person who are saying it are (maybe a hectic human
city).

4 - Changing the environment is a way to adapt. Changing the environment
for better adaptability can be considered a high level of consciousness,
because its models are so "sharp" that can be used to anticipate the
environment, and change it. We do it with medicine, engineering, while
talking, etc...

Following are some questions/phrases which may be interesting while
thinking about what I said before:

1 - Which would be the good building blocks to create a conscience state
system? In a general sense, maybe not too tightly coupled with the Human
one. Maybe existing ones, but arranged slightly differently

2 - There are modules that the conscience can change, and other that it
can't and shouldn't. It's partly static and partly dynamic to be
maintainable.

3 - Could it grasp the environment deeply, i.e. become excellent at a point
that we could realise its beauty, but not its dynamics/structure? - Maybe
the feeling the dogs has about humans.

4 - How could we create a system that follows ethics, driving all this
development to the best direction? - Not creating simple slaves or egoist
machines, but in a way which would leverage the life and the consciousness
itself.

Thank you for your patience, please, surprise me with something, maybe a
completely different point of view, maybe just a slightly changed point of
view which could open my mind to other set of ideas. I would like to know
related ideas which could be interesting... Firstly I have a fundamental
question: Why have you chosen to work with AGI in the first place? I want
an emotional or philosophical answer. Which are your dreams regarding AGI?
