Sure.   In a way yes; in a way no....   The metaphor of the "door" is
limited, right?   If a being is configured not to fit through the door, and
said being needs to get reshaped in order to fit through the door, then in
what sense is the door actually open to that being?  Subtle...

The tech Singularity will be a means for a Consciousness Singularity...

In your metaphor, suppose that most players of WoW *could* exit the game by
hitting ALT-F4 -- but they believe that doing so would be insanely
difficult, so they don't even try or serious consider trying...

The Singularity will spread among all sapient beings on Earth, knowledge of
how to easily get out of the "video game" of our current reality....
Sorta like changing everyone into a form where they are freed from the
delusion that hitting ALT-F4 would be insanely hard...
