There is no way I'd ever agree to terms like that, especially given that
they cover not
just code, but also all business ideas etc. related to this technology.

I guess you can freely use their code to make an interesting open source
program, which is already quite a lot. But my main problem is not the
license but the technology: did you try and find it compelling? I'm really
not convinced by the papers and it is around 1GB of code to download,
go through and learn, all with no clear benefits. How about using MiniSAT
instead? It is just around a thousand lines of code and probably the best
program to solve combinatorial problems that you can find on the net.
Well, and the licence is BSD :).
