I'm probably an idiot for diving into this but . . .
Intelligence is the ability to navigate from the current world state to a
pre-defined alternate world state.
The more effectively you navigate (i.e. the higher your success ratio), the
more intelligent you are.
Thermometers have zero intelligence because they do not navigate.
