If you can do better voice recognition, that's a significant application in its own right, as well as having uses in other applications e.g. automated first layer for call centers.
If you can do better image/video recognition, there are a great many uses for that -- look at all the things people are trying to use image recognition for at the moment. If you can do both at the same time, that's going to have plenty of uses for filtering, classifying and searching video. (Imagine being able to search the Youtube archives like you can search the Web today. I would guess Google would pay a few bob for technology that could do that.)
